The Apartment Profane

Chapter 13: In which the yo-yo string is revealed as a state of mind--379-380: Profane finds himself on Houston street and decides to visit his parents. They are not home, but he goes in anyway and discovers that his mother has laid out food as if expecting to feed someone. Profane eats for a while, then leaves, knowing that his parents will know he was there.
